Gaza Health Ministry Refuses to Receive ‘Body Container’ from Israel, Calls on Red Cross | News

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced the arrival of a container from the Israeli side containing about 88 unidentified bodies of Palestinians from the Strip.

The ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that it had suspended the procedures for receiving the bodies until the data and information about them were completed so that their families could identify them.

She called on the International Red Cross to carry out its duties regarding receiving and delivering the bodies, providing data on each one and the areas from which they were taken.

In a related matter, the Ministry of Health announced today, in a separate statement, that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has risen to 41,495 martyrs, and 96,006 wounded.

The ministry said – in its statistical report for the 355th day of the war – that the Israeli occupation committed 4 massacres against families in the besieged Gaza Strip, of which 28 bodies of martyrs and 85 wounded arrived at hospitals during the past 24 hours.

She explained that a number of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them.

With full American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, which has led – in addition to the dead and wounded, most of whom are children and women – to massive destruction and a deadly famine that has claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

Israel continues this war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
