The government media office in Gaza revealed today, Friday, that about 88% of the area of the sector has been destroyed, and that Israel has threw 125 thousand tons of explosives, since October 2023.
He said – in a statement – that the occupation army “took control of 77% of the Gaza area, and abandoned about two million civilians, leaving losses exceeding 62 billion dollars.”
The government office indicated that Israel destroyed 38 hospitals and 96 care centers, in addition to targeting 144 ambulances.
According to the statement, the destruction included 156 completely educational institutions, 382 partially, 833 mosques, 3 churches and 40 cemeteries, indicating that 288 thousand families became homeless after the destruction of about 223 thousand complete housing units, and more than 130 thousand with a degree that made them unsuccessful for housing, and targeted 261 shelters.
The media office stated that the agricultural sector lost $ 2.2 billion after the destruction of 92% of the lands of the Palestinian sector, at a time when water, electricity, sanitation and archaeological structures were exposed to widespread destruction.
The Israeli Haaretz stated – yesterday, the first – that the scale of the destruction in the Gaza Strip is greater than it was previously believed, indicating that the destruction of buildings became by private Israeli contractors working under the supervision of the combat units of the Israeli occupation army.
The newspaper warned that the Israeli contractors receive approximately 5,000 shekels (about 1500 USD) for each building destroying it.
Since October 2023, Israel has launched a mass extermination war on the Gaza Strip – with American support – that resulted in the death and injury of more than 196,000 Palestinians, most of them children and women, in addition to more than 11,000 missing under the rubble, amid a mass destruction of infrastructure and famine that harvested the lives of many civilians.
