On Wednesday, dismissed Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant criticized Benjamin Netanyahu’s government’s efforts to seek the help of private companies under the pretext of distributing humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, considering that this means “military rule for which soldiers will pay with their lives.”
Gallant said through his account on the
He added that what he called “the price of blood” will be paid by Israeli army soldiers, and Israel will pay it, “in light of a bad arrangement of priorities that will lead to the neglect of more important security tasks,” according to what Anadolu Agency reported from him.
Gallant considered that Israel must prepare what he described as an alternative entity to replace the Israeli army in controlling the region, and “otherwise we are on the way to military rule,” stressing that military rule in Gaza is not part of the goals of the war, but rather a dangerous and irresponsible political act. .
On November 5, Netanyahu dismissed Gallant and appointed former Foreign Minister Israel Katz in his place, due to disagreements related to the way the war was managed in Gaza.
After creating a major starvation crisis in Gaza with its decision to ban the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Israel claims that it is considering replacing alternative entities to distribute aid in the Strip, led by an American security company.
Israeli Army Radio reported on Wednesday that Netanyahu and his Defense Minister Katz yesterday held a four-hour discussion regarding Gaza with specialists, which discussed a plan to bring a private American security company to Gaza, without indicating its identity.
The Hebrew newspaper “Israel Hayom” also revealed a meeting held by the new Defense Minister with senior army commanders to discuss the possibility of using an American security company to distribute humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.
During the meeting, the possibility of a private American security company entering certain neighborhoods in Gaza and assuming responsibility for the civilian side and distributing humanitarian aid was raised, with the Israeli army providing them with security cover only, according to the Israeli newspaper.
This comes as Israel has continued its devastating war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 148,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and worsening famine looming over the besieged Strip.
