Gabriel Attal: the youngest French Prime Minister


Emmanuel Macron appoints Gabriel Attal to Matignon: he is the youngest and the first openly homosexual Prime Minister in the history of the country.

Gabriel Attal is 34 years old, he is at the same time the youngest tenant of Matignon that France has known and the first openly homosexual Prime Minister in the history of the country.

Emmanuel Macron appointed him to replace Élisabeth Borne with the hope of relaunching the second part of his second five-year term.

Gabriel Attal, French Prime Minister: “The youngest President of the Republic in history appoints the youngest Prime Minister in history. I only want to see it as aa single symbol, that of audacity and movement. The symbol also and perhaps above all, of confidence, that given to youth.”

Emmanuel Macron says he is “counting” on the “energy” of Gabriel Attal to support and carry out his “project of rearmament and regeneration of the country.”

The president’s entourage speaks of a return to the sources of macronism” and of “overcoming” divisions.

In opposition, Marine Le Pen assures that “the French cannot hope for anything” from the new Prime Minister.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon believes that Gabriel Attal is a simple “spokesperson” and that the “presidential monarch governs alone”.
