Who says February, says (no, no gloomy time) carnival! Many Italian cities provide for the great celebrations. In Venice, the party has already started, as well as by Viareggio, on the Tuscany coast. Join the festivities!
The celebrations of carnival started, with many events throughout Italy. Like every year, Veniceis in a way the capital of the party: in the Venetian capital, the 2025 carnival is devoted to “Casanova time”. During the opening evening, some 20,000 people gathered on Place Saint-Marc for an evening under the sign of love, Valentine’s Day helping.

For the occasion, a special competition dedicated to lovers, called “Scream Your Love” (Scream your love), was organized to allow participants to declare their feelings spectacularly. The evening was hosted by Marco Maccarini and Pérara Chiarawith Prince Mauritius in the role of Casanova and the Bouffon Manuel Bruttomesso who played a Don Giovanni won. Many artists Were also present: Jacopo Sarno and Silvia Scartozzoni, in particular, interpreted extracts from the “Casanova Operapop” show by Red Canzian.
Sunday, February 16, from 11 a.m., more than a hundred decorated boats and costumed rowers will meet at Punta Doga Dogana to navigate the Grand Canal towards Rialto. Just before the bridge, the Caorlina (a rowing and sometimes sailing boat used in the Venice lagoon) carrying The pantegana in papier machebecome one of the symbols of the popular Venetian carnival, will symbolically open up in an explosion of colorful smoke, serpentine and confetti (biodegradable and environmentally friendly, obviously), thus giving the official kick -off of the festivities carnival.
The party will end at Campo Dell’erbaria, in the midst of traditional Venetian dishes and wines, music and a lot of pleasure.

THE Street show of the Carnival of Venice “Casanova, che avventure da Matti!” (What crazy adventures!)) will also be presented in preview in Venice, from 11 am, and in Mestre, from 3.30 pm. Jugger of life, the theorist of fantasy, traveler of possibilities and scientific of creativity: the spirit of This eclectic Venetian character that is Casanova, will entertain spectators of all ages with Cirque-Theater shows, clowneries, musicians, parades, magicians and adventurous storytellers on the scenes of Piazza San Marco and Piazza Ferretto.
The cultural program is particularly rich, with “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi at the legendary Teatro La Feniceon a booklet by Francesco Maria Piave, while the Teatro Goldoni presents one of the most singular works of Carlo Goldoni, “the wise wife”, which mixes tragedy and comedy.
Another historic carnival event in Italy is that of Viareggio. In this Tuscan city, the party began on February 9 with the first masked parade: five others will follow until March 4.
The 631ᵉ edition in Putignano
HAS Putignanoon the other hand, the first parade of allegorical tanks is scheduled for Sunday, February 16, followed by an Eugenio Cesaro show by the Eugenio in Via Di Gioia and a concert by the Le Vibrazioni group. In the case of the city of Puglia, it is also a historic event: it is its 631ᵉ editiondevoted this year to the theme of “subversion”. Rapper Nitro and Rapper Di Lista concerts are also planned in the coming weeks.
From Sunday February 16, CIVITA Castellana will also welcome its historic carnival, for which eight thousand participants are expected. HAS Romeon the other hand, the Cinecittà World amusement park offers an entertainment program to celebrate carnival, with parades, tanks, costume contests, shows and events dedicated to children. All this until March 9.
