A convoy of around two hundred tractors is heading from the south-west of France towards Rungis.

Farmers could achieve this this Tuesday late afternoon.

Armored vehicles are pre-positioned at the entrance to the site to prevent angry farmers from blocking the huge fresh produce market.

To try to calm the revolt, the government has committed to taking “new measures” today.

Around Paris, several hundred tractors and agricultural machinery have been blocking several highways since Monday.

The simplification of environmental standards is one of their main demands.

We are required to have fallow land, but we are expected to produce more. How are we supposed to produce more if we have less space to grow?” asks a farmer.

Peasant anger also in Romania where farmers are protesting against working conditions, fuel prices, taxes and the lack of public investment.

Peasant anger still in Belgium.

Farmers have organized the temporary blocking of the Namur motorway and are preventing traffic on the Brussels ring road.

Here too, the discontent targets the lack of harmonization of standards with imported products.
