The former Israeli army commander, Yaatah Ron Tall, admitted that Tel Aviv is close to a disaster with its forces remaining in the Gaza Strip after nearly two years of war, criticizing the government for its failure to provide a clear strategy, according to what was reported by the Jerusalem Post.

According to the newspaper, the former Israeli military commander said that Israel’s inability to manage the field situation in the Gaza Strip undermine what he described as “military gains.”

He stressed that the Israeli army is facing an operational depletion, stressing that the reserve forces are very exhausted.

Unseen goals

Ron Tall called on the Israeli government to determine its goals clearly and avoid hesitation regarding the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, saying, “The war cannot continue forever. I have harsh criticism of the government. It must decide where we go.”

He also admitted that Israel failed to deal with the issue of aid in Gaza, explaining that the Israeli army has not been able, throughout the months of the war, to establish an entity to deal with humanitarian affairs in the Strip, and therefore the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is still controlling the civil level, as he put it.

It does not seem that the Israeli government has a plan to end the war on the Gaza Strip, despite the demands of the Israeli army due to the exhaustion of its soldiers, in light of the families of the detainees to conclude a deal that ends the war and return the Israeli prisoners.
