Summer is still longing for in certain European countries.

In the region ofEmilia-Romagnahundreds of firefighters were called to respond to flooded homes and uprooted trees, while floods blocked roads and washed away bridges.

A red alert regarding river levels which was in progress around Modena was lifted this Thursday, because the weather services expect a calm in the coming days

The other regions affected to a lesser extent were Liguria, southern Piedmont, Tuscany, and Umbria.

High temperatures are forecast in Italy, after the bad weather which hit the country.

Switzerland hit by an impressive storm

In French-speaking Switzerland, more than one hundred and ten millimeters of rain fell in a few hours, including 98 in one hour, a record!

A swollen stream flooded stores in Morges, on the shores of Lake Geneva, and 50 flights had to be canceled at Geneva airport due to a breakdown at the premises of Skyguide, the air navigation manager in Swiss.
