The German ambassador to Russia was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry to explain himself after the broadcast of secret exchanges between German officers on arms deliveries to Kyiv.

An allegation denied by Berlin a few hours later, which evokes a meeting planned for a long time… But for Moscow these revelations are unequivocal.

“The recording itself suggests that plans for strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation are the subject of detailed and specific discussions within the Bundeswehr. This does not require any legal interpretation, everything is more than obvious” says Dmitri Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidency.

For its part, Berlin confirms that a secret conversation between officers was “intercepted” by Russia. A matter that is embarrassing at the highest level of the German state.

In the 38-minute recording, several senior officers discuss the delivery of German weapons to Kyiv and in particular long-range Taurus missiles. The officers mentioned in particular the option of strikes targeting the strategic Crimean bridge linking the Kerch peninsula and Russian territory, with one of them emphasizing that it would take between ten and twenty missiles to overcome it. The Crimean peninsula was annexed in 2014 by Moscow.

German officials fear that this alleged tapping is not isolated.
