The Palestinian resistance is engaged in fierce clashes with the Israeli occupation forces in the western and southwestern neighborhoods of Gaza City, while the Al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – attacked Israeli military sites in the Netzarim Corridor (central) and Kerem Shalom in the southern Gaza Strip.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that violent clashes were taking place between the resistance and the occupation forces in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
The reporter confirmed that explosions were heard in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood and its surrounding areas as clashes continued.
The Al-Qassam Brigades said that its fighters were able to snipe an Israeli soldier on Street 10, south of Tal al-Hawa, west of Gaza City, which led to his direct injury.
Al-Qassam added, in a separate statement, that it targeted the Zionist forces on Street 10, southwest of Gaza City, with heavy-caliber mortar shells.
In turn, the Al-Quds Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement – said that they bombed with mortar shells a position of enemy soldiers in the vicinity of the Al-Baidar area on Al-Rashid Street, west of Gaza City.
On the other hand, the occupation Apache helicopters opened heavy fire on the south of the Tal al-Hawa and al-Zaytoun neighborhoods, south of Gaza City. The occupation artillery also bombed the vicinity of Al-Fadila Mosque, east of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood.
Direct hit
In the central Gaza Strip, the Al-Qassam Brigades said that they, in conjunction with the Al-Quds Brigades, bombed the occupation forces positioned in the “Netzarim” axis, which separates the north of the Strip from its center and south, with “107” short-range missiles.
Local sources reported to Tel Aviv Tribune that ambulances belonging to the occupation army were evacuating wounded people from the Netzarim axis. Helicopters also landed in the eastern areas of the axis.
During an inspection tour of the Netzarim Corridor in the central Gaza Strip, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that Israel is monitoring indicators that Hamas does not agree with the direction of the deal.
He added that this means that the Israeli army will launch a major military operation as soon as possible in Rafah and other locations in the Gaza Strip.
In a related context, the occupation forces blew up a residential square in the vicinity of Netzarim and the Al-Mughraqa area, southwest of Gaza City.
The occupation warplanes also bombed agricultural land behind the Al-Istiqama Mosque in Al-Maghazi Camp in the central Gaza Strip.
Karam Abu Salem
Earlier today, Sunday, the occupation army suffered losses in an attack that the Israeli media described as dangerous this afternoon, as the Palestinian resistance bombed crowds of the occupation forces at the Kerem Shalom site and its surroundings in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Israeli media said that the event in Kerem Shalom was “dangerous” and “unusual,” and added that there was a publication ban on information related to the location of the shells and the army’s losses.
Some Israeli newspapers and websites reported that 12 soldiers were injured, some of them in serious condition.
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth said that the army called helicopters to the Kerem Shalom site to evacuate the injured.
In turn, the newspaper “Israel Today” said that what happened in Kerem Shalom was an “unusual incident” after Hamas fired a barrage of rockets, which led to casualties.
At the same time, the Regional Council of the Eshkol settlements – adjacent to the besieged Palestinian Strip – announced that there were casualties due to a rocket explosion near an Israeli military facility.
For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades said that it bombed crowds of the occupation forces in the Karm Shalom site and its surroundings with 114 mm rockets.
According to the General Authority for Crossings and Borders in Gaza, the site targeted by the resistance is the Karam Abu Salem “military” site and not the Kerem Shalom crossing, as the military site is more than two kilometers away from the crossing towards the north.
