A report of the classification initiative of the integrated food security phase (IPC), published on Monday, said that the Gaza Strip “is still faced with a critical risk of famine” after more than a year and a half of devastating war, with the vast majority of its approximately 2.1 million people at severe risks.
Some 70 days after the Israeli army interrupted the entry of food, water, medicines and all other rescue supplies in Gaza, the report indicates that “the goods essential to the survival of people are exhausted or which should run out in the coming weeks”.
“The whole population is faced with high levels of acute food insecurity, with half a million people (one in five) faced with famine,” he said. About 93% of the Gaza population experiences acute food shortages, he added.

Conditions have grown considerably since the previous IPC report, released in October, with a higher percentage of the population faced with more serious levels of food insecurity.
The whole population should face a “crisis” or worse levels of acute food insecurity if the Israeli seat persists. One in five is likely to cope with famine between May and September.
The bombed territory authorities said last week that at least 57 people died to death following the blockade of Israel.
A widespread acute malnutrition is planned, adds the analysis, in particular in the north of Gaza, mainly destroyed and in Rafah, in the southern part of the band.

A continuous blockade “would probably lead to a new mass displacement within and through the governors,” according to the report.
“The vast majority of people in the Gaza Strip would not have access to food, water, shelter and medicine.
Calls for an “urgent action” while food prices soar 3,000% soar
