Representatives of the families of Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip said that the only way to return the detainees is only through an agreement between the Israeli occupation and the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas,” calling for the signing of this agreement.
Representatives of the families of the prisoners added, in a press conference in Tel Aviv, that many were killed as a result of military pressure in the Gaza Strip, which endangers the lives of the detainees, pointing out that the Israeli government is responsible for the lives of the detainees, not the Hamas movement.
They pointed out that the exchange deal is what will return the remaining prisoners alive from Gaza, calling on world leaders to intervene in order to conclude the exchange deal and return all detainees.
The families of Israeli prisoners detained in Gaza are organizing demonstrations and protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of obstructing reaching a deal with Hamas.
On October 7, 2023, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, carried out a major attack on bases, barracks and settlements around the Gaza Strip, killing hundreds of Israeli soldiers and officers.
The Qassams also captured at least 240 Israelis, more than 100 of whom were released during a temporary humanitarian truce in November 2023, while dozens of prisoners detained in Gaza were killed due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for more than 15 months.
