Political experts and analysts unanimously agreed that the military operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance in Khan Yunis, which killed 7 Israeli soldiers, represents an important turning point in the war on the Gaza Strip.
Al -Jazeera had shown scenes of the Izz al -Din al -Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – the two Israeli soldiers in an ambush in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, and the occupation announced the killing of 7 soldiers inside them, including an officer.
The occupation army also announced that Kenn Yunus was carried out by one fighter, while the 13th Israeli channel reported that a preliminary investigation of the occupation army began.
The researcher in political and strategic affairs, Saeed Ziyad, described the operation as “the largest murderer in the ranks of the enemy forces since the beginning of the year 2025”, stressing that it joins the series of most dares since the beginning of the war.
He explained that the resistance used the third -class shores package weighing 21 kilograms, and was placed inside the military mechanism, not below it as usual, which led to the ignition of the mechanism, which the occupation forces could not extinguish only outside the borders of the Gaza Strip.
In the same context, Ziyad pointed to the psychological side of the operation, noting that only two fighters attacked an armored faction of about 20 Israeli force, and they were not answered by one shot.
This, according to his appreciation, reflects a state of indolence in the ranks of the Israeli army, which contradicts what is supposed to have an army that has been fighting a continuous war for more than a year.
Sniffing
For his part, the academic and expert in Israeli affairs, Muhannad Mustafa, stressed that this number of dead and painful people are more painful to the Israelis than the damage caused by Iranian missiles in Tel Aviv.
He attributed this to the fact that the military operation in Gaza has turned into a socially and politically demilitarized process in Israel, and it has no consensus.
Mustafa pointed out that the killing of Israeli soldiers affects Israeli society more than the killing of civilians, because Israel is using the killing of civilians for propaganda, while the killing of the soldiers reveals a real military failure.
In this regard, he pointed out that the use of the term “killing of soldiers has become absurd” in the general debate in Israel indicates the amount of pain that affects Israeli society.
Regarding the resistance strategy, the military and strategic expert, Brigadier Elias Hanna, explained that the attrition occurs when the enemy cannot compensate for losses, and thus the problem becomes internal, and stressed that this matter is now within Israel in terms of the human element and the reserve and dead soldiers.
On the other hand, Hanna explained that the resistance depends on a different tactic that focuses on winning time and giving up the land to bring down as possible as possible losses in enemy soldiers.
This tactic, according to his estimate, cannot escape from it, because it is a tactic imposed on it and it cannot cope with it.
Strategic challenges
On the strategic challenges of the Israeli leadership, Ziad pointed out that Israel has fought 3 wars in its history, all of which ended with its withdrawal, comparing the current situation in what happened in Lebanon and Gaza previously.
He emphasized that if Israel turned from a battle to a long battle it is lost, and if it turns from an air battle to a wild battle, it is also a candidate for a loss.
Mustafa warned that Israel’s attempts to portray its victory over Iran as a great strategic success, while facing real difficulties in Gaza, and explained that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu -wanted by the International Criminal Court -wants to turn Gaza into a secondary front, not only from military terms, but also from a political point of view.
Mustafa pointed to an important development in the Israeli public opinion, noting that 69% of the Israelis support the cessation of the war on the Gaza Strip, and almost 50% of the Israeli supporters support the ceasefire.
In the political context, he pointed out that recent surveys show that the right -wing coalition may lose 19 seats if the elections take place today, which means that it moves from 68 seats to 47 seats and its inability to form a government.
Political accounts
According to experts, these political accounts may push Netanyahu to seriously think about stopping the war to preserve his political gains from “victory” over Iran.
Despite the renewed talk about the possibility of a ceasefire, Ziad stressed that any partial deal will be rejected at the table of the Palestinian factions, and even the invading society will reject it.
He explained that the resistance demands real guarantees to stop the war, stressing that stopping the war constitutes 90% of any agreement, and below this margins that can be negotiated.
Since the seventh of October 2023, Israel has committed American support for Gaza genocide that includes killing, starvation, destruction and hybrid, ignoring international calls and orders to the International Court of Justice to stop it.
The extermination left more than 188,000 Palestinians between a martyr and a wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11 thousand missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and the famine that has been tired of many lives, including children, as well as widespread destruction.
