As the June vote approaches, Euronews asks voters to name one proposal they would make if elected to the European Parliament, and questions candidates on what they pledge to do if elected or re-elected.
In this episode Euronews interviews a citizen and a candidate about health. Ann Li is president of Long Covid Europe, a European network of Covid patient associations. She wishes “that additional funds be allocated to research into long-term illnesses” and help patients to turn the page on the pandemic.
Katerina Voureksaki is a candidate for the Greek PASOK (socialist) party. She wants to see her country invest more in health. “The Greek state only devotes 5.8% of its GDP to the health sector, whether medicines or hospitals, while the European average is 7.7%. An adjustment is therefore necessary in this area.“, she emphasizes.
