Euro-Mediterranean: Washington is an accomplice in the Khan Yunis crime | News

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said on Tuesday that the United States is an accomplice in the crime committed by the Israeli army at dawn against displaced people in tents in the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis Governorate in the southern Gaza Strip, because it carried out the attack with its destructive weapons.

The Observatory reported, in a statement on its website, that its initial investigations showed that Israeli warplanes dropped three American-made MK 84 bombs, after midnight on Tuesday, September 10, on a gathering of displaced people’s tents in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, while they were sleeping, creating three holes several meters deep and in diameter, burying about 20 tents with the families inside them.

He stressed that Washington is a partner in this crime, as it supplies the Israeli army with weapons and destructive bombs despite knowing that they are being used to kill hundreds of civilians.

The observatory indicated that the targeted area is sand dunes, and therefore many tents, including entire families, were buried under the sand.

He considered that the horrific massacre against displaced persons in dilapidated tents in an area that was declared humanitarian, is further evidence that the international silence on the crime of genocide against the Palestinians for 11 months encourages Israel to commit more of these crimes.

The Observatory stressed that the use of this type of American bombs with a wide destructive effect in an area full of tents and displaced people is an indication of the Israeli army’s intention to kill the largest number of civilians, noting that no evacuation warnings preceded the bombing.

The Observatory stressed that even if the allegations of the presence of members of armed factions were true, the use of several bombs with great destructive power and dropping them in one of the most densely populated areas of displaced civilians in the Strip, and committing a massacre against civilians while they were sleeping, cannot be justified.

justify crimes

On Tuesday morning, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported, quoting an army statement, that air force planes attacked Hamas members who were working in a disguised command and control complex in the humanitarian area of Khan Yunis.

Despite the large number of casualties, the Israeli military claimed to have “taken many steps to reduce the possibility of harm to civilians, including the use of precision weapons, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence.”

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) confirmed that the occupation army’s allegations of the presence of resistance elements at the targeted site are a blatant lie, through which it seeks to justify these heinous crimes.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor stressed that ignoring these unprecedented massacres in the history of wars against civilians constitutes a green light for Israel to continue committing them as part of a clear approach to collectively kill and eliminate Palestinians.

He also called for holding accountable the countries complicit and partnering with Israel in committing crimes, most importantly the United States of America, which provides it with all forms of assistance related to committing these crimes.

Khiam massacre

On Tuesday morning, the Civil Defense in Gaza announced the martyrdom of 40 Palestinians and the injury of 60 others in the massacre, adding that there are more than 200 tents in the targeted area, and that more than 20 to 40 tents were completely damaged by the bombing.

He said that the Israeli warplanes used heavy concussion missiles, which left three deep holes and caused entire families to disappear under the sand.

The Israeli army repeatedly targets tents and shelters housing thousands of displaced people, killing and wounding dozens of them.

Last July, the Israeli army committed a massacre in the same area, killing 90 Palestinians and wounding 300, in a series of raids targeting Palestinian tents and displacement sites.

With full American support, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, leaving about 136,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amidst massive destruction and deadly famine.
