Spanish fans were out in force in Madrid to cheer on their team after La Roja’s fourth victory in the European Football Championship.
The Spanish players are back in Madrid, after their victory at Euro 2024 football in Germany.
The celebrations began on Monday with a visit from the team to the royal family. King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia and their two daughters, Crown Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, greeted the players and coaching staff.
The players offered the Spanish monarch a No. 4 jersey with the words “Kings of Europe”, to celebrate Spain’s fourth victory in the European Championship, a record in the history of the competition.
After their visit to the royal family, Spanish players took part in a parade through the streets of Madridthe day after their 2-1 victory over England in the Euro 2024 final.
The bus tour has ended in the Plaza de Cibeles, where Spanish fans had come in large numbers to celebrate the victory of La Roja.
Team captain Alvaro Morata brought the trophy onto the stage, and coach Luis de la Fuente was given a long cheer by the crowd.
