Severe weather triggered a landslide in southern Ethiopia on Monday, killing more than 140 people. Most of the victims were buried under the mud.
In Ethiopia, at least 146 people died this Mondayin a landslide caused by severe weather. The tragedy occurred in the Gofa area, in a remote region in the south of the country.

The death toll rose as search operations continued in the area, said Kassahun Abayneh, a local administrator in Gofa area.
At least five people were pulled alive from the mud.
