In an unexpected surprise, independent security researcher Jeremya Fowler managed to find a database stored on an insured cloud servant of more than 184 million passwords and an account of a variety of different services starting from Apple services to bank accounts and some government gates, according to a report published by “9 To 5 Mac” specializing in Apple products news.
According to Fowler, the database was left on the open server and did not need any passwords to reach and use, adding that this rule is like a gift coming from pirate dreams and Internet criminals.
The database space has reached more than 47 GB of passwords and different accounts, and it included the e -mail, user name and passwords as well as login links for each of these accounts, and because of the large size of the database, Fowla was unable to determine all the services in the leak.
Through a simplified examination, Fowler was able to identify a set of services such as “Apple”, “Amazon”, “Discord” services as well as “Facebook”, “Google”, “Paypal”, “X” and Microsoft accounts and “WordPress” as well.
He was able to be sure of the sincerity and accuracy of the leaked data by communicating directly with some of the email addresses in the leak, and they were the ones who confirmed the sincerity of the data and that it is currently used, then Fowler contacted the service that hosted the database in order to remove it until the data of the owner of the database is certain.
Fowler is likely that this data was stolen by using the malware (Infostealer) software, which is a type of common software that is found in pirated applications and malicious e -mail messages as well.
