A national tribute in the presence of President Emmanuel Macron. The families of the victims were also present at this ceremony.

They are there, each and every one, to remind us that our lives, their lives, deserve to fight tirelessly against the ideas of hatred and to give in nothing to rampant anti-Semitism, uninhibited here and there, because nothing justifies it.“, declared Emmanuel Macron.

This tribute comes four months after the Hamas attack which left more than 1,160 victims according to official Israeli data.

France has the largest Jewish community in Europe, with around 500,000 people, including nearly 100,000 living in Israel. Some of these nationals were able to follow the ceremony which was broadcast in Tel Aviv.

Among those present, families of hostages. Three French people are still being held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
