“Elon Musk”, “Rare Minerals” and “Israel” .. Trump’s passwords against South Africa | policy

Washington- Despite the warning of a number of his advisers not to go to meet US President Donald Trump, South Africa, Cyrill Ramavoza, arrived at the White House in an attempt to stop the estrangement and narrow the gap of differences between his country and the United States.

But Trump set an ambush for the visiting president, and surprised the guest by showing videos in front of the world about what he falsely called “genocide” against white farmers, but the South African President for his part succeeded in maintaining his calm.

The incident confirmed that President Trump’s distorted views of South Africa, and the difficulty of changing them, especially since its engines and those behind them have a lot of strength and influence on him, at a time when Trump does not care mainly in all the African continent, including South Africa.

The Foundation for Defense for Democrats, a right -wing research center in Washington, has been visiting 5 points that Trump must address in his meeting with Ramafuza, and mentioned the strong South Africa relations in Russia, China and Iran, and also claimed that there are strong relations with Hamas and Hezbollah.

However, all of this was to pave the way to push Trump to pressure because of South Africa’s solid position before the International Court of Justice against the genocide committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip with full American support.

At the same time, Elon Musk played; The owner of South African origins, a major role in line with the fanatic right wing of Trump within the “America First” stream, which believes in the Highness of the White Sex.

On a purely material aspect, the “rare mineral lobby” and Washington’s interests in the face of China’s great domination of it played a role in pressuring the President of South Africa in an effort to a greater American share in rare South African minerals.

Israel first

During the Ramafuza era, the African National Congress party intensified its legal campaign against Israel in the International Court of Justice. The Jewish lobby claimed that “South Africa has fought itself as a lawyer for Hamas on the international scene.”

Pretoria inaugurated its legal attack against Israel’s practices before the International Court of Justice in December 2023, accusing Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza. Former Foreign Minister Tony Blinkkin considered that these accusations are “ridiculous” and do not deserve to be answered, and that the court is not eligible to consider these artificial accusations.

However, the court issued two arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yoav Gallant. While Israel is not a member of the court, 125 countries have become a demand – legal – to arrest Netanyahu if its feet are settled, which makes him an outlet in most parts of the world.

Trump describes South Africa as “positions against the United States and its allies.” In early February, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio announced that he would not attend the G20 summit in Johannesburg, claiming that South Africa uses the forum to enhance diversity, fairness, inclusiveness and climate change efforts, policies opposed by the Trump administration.

South Africa has not retreated, but Ramavusa reaffirmed his support “Israel’s accountability for war crimes.”

Musk and “Avrkanties”

The visit came at a time when the relations between Washington and Bretoria reached its lowest levels since the end of the 1994 apartheid system. Trump claimed that “terrible things occur” in South Africa, then talked about “genocide of eggs”, and called the eggs there to apply for asylum in the United States.

Indeed, a first American government plane carrying about 59 South African citizens who requested to resort to the United States arrived.

Trump’s friend and adviser to the close billionaire Illon Musk urged this position, which supports his right -wing vision that the eggs are facing an existential threat, both within the United States, due to immigration, or in the rest of the world, especially his motherland, South Africa, because of its followers of policies that support societal justice.

The right -wing media in the United States focused on a narrative that the South African government “takes lands from eggs based on the color of their skin,” and Illon Musk supported this hypothesis.

It is worth noting that the Trump administration canceled the accreditation of the former South African ambassador, Ibrahim Rasoul, after its arrival in January last January after he argued that the pro -President Trump’s “Maga” movement “racist” and plays on the chord of the white majority numbers of migration.

Trump’s critics say Trump’s foreign policies related to immigration, including his acceptance of “white African” refugees, are only an extension of his anti -black agenda in the United States.

Ramafuza rejects Trump’s allegations and his advisor, Makek, to confiscate the lands of “Avrkanties” or their illusion in an unusual manner, noting that his country “is the only one in the continent in which the colonists came to stay and never expelled them from our country.”

Rare minerals

On the other hand, Trump’s decision came earlier this year to cut aid from South Africa in shocking to the participation of his country in a rare dust and mineral project located in the Valburua region, in northeastern South Africa, and a number of commentators seek decisive to the United States’ hopes in achieving progress in the race to produce various electronics, cars and weapons.

China greatly monopolizes the supply and refining of some biological minerals, especially rare soils, a group of 17 minerals used to build products that support the modern economy.

The South Africa project, according to experts, is helping to face the challenge of developing China’s indisputable mineral sources.

It is expected to extract 4 major rare soils from the site, according to the RAINBOBOW Rare Rare Earths that runs the project.

In a report of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, expert Grasillin Baskran indicates that the “Valburua region is a strategic origin of American interests.” For its importance, a delegation of US Congress employees visited the company’s laboratories in South Africa last March.

An assessment conducted by the American Geological Survey indicate that this region can produce more than 10,000 tons of non -magnetic Earth oxides. China has a 70% stake in global production of these rare and valuable materials.

The dispute between the Trump and South Africa administration endangers Washington’s economic interests at risk, at a time when observers refer to Trump’s desire to give South Africa more excavation and mineral extraction and precious dust of American companies.

In the end, Trump’s participation or not at the G20 summit hosted by South Africa, in a later endowment this year, is a serious test of the size and depth of the two countries’ disputes.
