“Our eyes betrayed us when we left Gaza,” said a member of the second Kuwaiti medical delegation affiliated with the Kuwait Relief Society in the Gaza Strip, as they were leaving the Strip, after they were forced to do so due to warnings accompanied by raids by the Israeli occupation army on the city of Rafah.

After a week full of humanitarian giving, the medical team inspected the conditions of the displaced in tents and shelter centers. He also performed delicate surgeries, the likes of which had not been performed for some time in both the Kuwaiti Specialized Hospital and the European Hospital, and this was done in cooperation with the health authorities in Gaza.

Pioneers on social media platforms circulated videos documenting the poignant moments of the Kuwaiti medical delegation leaving the Gaza Strip, with tears and sadness at the loss of the injured and wounded who are still in need of medical care.

Tweeters – on the Arab level – thanked the Kuwaiti medical delegation that entered the besieged sector, to treat the sick and wounded of the aggression, and they left with tears and sadness. They hoped that the visit would be long, to save innocent lives, especially with the collapse of the health system in the sector. One of the tweeters said, “How great you are and how true your tears are.” “You have honored us…and every Arab and Muslim is honorable.”

Other activists called for intensifying efforts to support the Palestinian people, and stressed the need for the Arab world to unite in order to stand up to injustice and persecution, and work to achieve peace and justice in the afflicted Palestinian sector.

At the heart of the event, activists in Gaza thanked the members of the Kuwaiti medical delegation who risked their lives and went to the Strip to heal the wounds of its people and alleviate their suffering.

In the same context, Omar Al-Thuwaini (a member of the Kuwaiti delegation) sent a message to the people of Gaza, expressing his sadness at leaving the Strip, and stressing the difficult conditions in Rafah, which differ from what he saw on his first visit to Gaza.

On the 214th day of the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the occupation army continues its continuous bombardment of areas in the besieged Strip, and announced that its forces “completely” took control of the Rafah crossing. For its part, the Al-Qassam Brigades said that they bombed – with heavy-caliber mortar shells – the occupation forces penetrating east of the Rafah crossing.
