The Israeli occupation forces launched violent raids on the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip – this morning, Tuesday – resulting in the death of more than 60 martyrs and the injury of dozens, while fierce battles are taking place in different areas in Khan Yunis, between the Palestinian resistance and the occupation army, which announced the killing of 24 of its soldiers. .

The Palestinian News Agency (Wafa) quoted local sources as saying that Israeli occupation aircraft bombed the tents of displaced people in Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, which led to the death of a number of citizens and the injury of dozens.

Medical sources reported that a number of martyrs and wounded arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital. After the occupation bombed a car carrying displaced people coming from Khan Yunis to the central governorate of the Gaza Strip, via the coastal road.

The same sources also reported that Israeli artillery again bombed the vicinity of Nasser Hospital in the city, which is witnessing fierce battles between the resistance and the occupation forces.

Targeting the Red Crescent and hospitals

For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent said that Israeli occupation army artillery bombed this morning its headquarters in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

The Red Crescent added – via the “X” platform – that the artillery shelling was accompanied by heavy gunfire from Israeli drones, which led to the injury of a number of displaced people in the building.

He said that Israeli tanks are near his headquarters in Khan Yunis, stressing that he has completely lost contact with his medical teams there, and that the occupation prevents his teams from reaching the wounded.

In the same context, the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that dozens of martyrs and wounded are still in the sites targeted by the occupation west of Khan Yunis, and that the Israeli occupation is preventing the movement of ambulances to retrieve them.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the occupation stormed Al-Khair Hospital, west of Khan Yunis, and detained medical staff.

The resistance inflicts heavy losses on the occupation

The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced this morning that it had destroyed an Israeli troop carrier with an “Al-Yassin 105” anti-armor missile in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

For its part, the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, announced that it bombed this morning with a barrage of mortar shells a position of Israeli occupation army soldiers and vehicles, in the western Al-Muskar area in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Earlier today, Al-Saraya said that it blew up an Israeli tank with a “thaqib” device, in the vicinity of the Japanese neighborhood, west of Khan Yunis. It added that it bombed, with a barrage of mortar shells, a position of occupation soldiers and vehicles in the advance axis in the western camp in Khan Yunis.

Today, the Israeli army admitted that 24 officers and soldiers were killed during the past 24 hours in battles in Gaza, including 21 soldiers from the reserve forces who were killed in the bombing of two buildings in the Maghazi camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip, which was described as the most violent day of combat since the start of the ground invasion on October 27, 2023. .

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said that the army’s military actions in the Gaza Strip are taking place under harsh security conditions, stressing that the battles in Khan Yunis in the south of the Strip are very harsh.

Hagari explained that the killing of the 21 soldiers came as a result of the bombing of two buildings with a rocket-propelled grenade in Al-Maghazi camp, around which they were placing explosives, noting that the process of rescuing the soldiers from under the rubble continued for long hours last night.

For its part, the Israeli Soroka Hospital announced that it received 7 wounded soldiers yesterday – including two serious cases – who were injured in battles in southern Gaza. He continued that he had received 2,642 injured soldiers since the beginning of the war, and 33 of them were still receiving treatment, explaining that 11 of them were in serious condition.

The Battle of Khan Yunis is approaching its third month without the Israeli army being able to tighten its control over the governorate, which the occupation leaders see as the most important military center for the resistance.
