Dozens of martyrs and wounded in a new massacre committed by the occupation in Rafah News

20 Palestinians were martyred and others were injured – today, Tuesday – in a new massacre committed by the Israeli occupation army by bombing a camp for the displaced in the Al-Mawasi area in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

The Emergency Committee in Rafah said in a statement that the Israeli occupation committed a new massacre of war and genocide targeting the tents of the displaced in the safe areas, in Al-Mawasi, west of the city of Rafah.

The committee considered what happened to be a new genocidal war crime added to his “Nazi terrorist” record, as his behavior violated all international resolutions and decisions of the International Court of Justice.

The Emergency Committee called on states and international and international institutions to immediately stop the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip and protect civilians and the displaced. It also called on the Arab and Islamic peoples to take massive mass action today, Tuesday, in all capitals, countries and squares, to denounce the crimes of genocide and stop the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

In turn, eyewitnesses said that martyrs and wounded were killed in an Israeli bombing that targeted tents for displaced people in the coastal area of Al-Mawasi, west of Rafah, confirming that a large number of injuries and bodies had been recovered from the site of the bombing, while scattered human remains were found.

The Israeli army previously designated the Al-Mawasi area as “safe” and did not ask the displaced to evacuate.

According to local Palestinian sources, the targeted tents are located about 100 meters from the American field hospital west of Rafah.

Targeting tents for displaced people

This is the third targeting of displaced persons’ tents in the city within 48 hours, as 45 Palestinians were martyred and dozens injured, most of them children and women, in an Israeli bombing that targeted displaced persons’ tents in the Tal al-Sultan area, even though they were among the areas that the Israeli army claimed were safe and people could move to.

Despite the overwhelming wave of discontent caused by Tel Aviv’s targeting of displaced persons’ tents, the Israeli army renewed its targeting of the same area at dawn on Tuesday, resulting in the death of 7 Palestinians and the injury of others.

In turn, the Israeli spokesman claimed that the army was targeting a Palestinian resistance fighter in Rafah, but the attack “unintentionally” claimed the lives of Palestinians who were in the area, adding that it is not yet clear what caused the fire that claimed the lives of civilians and the investigation is continuing.

This comes despite the International Court of Justice, with the approval of 13 of its members versus the rejection of two members, on Friday, issuing new temporary measures demanding that Israel immediately stop its attack on Rafah, keep the Rafah crossing open to facilitate the entry of aid into Gaza, and submit a report to the court within a month on the steps it has taken in this regard. connection.

These new measures came from the court, which is the highest judicial body in the United Nations, in response to a request from South Africa as part of a comprehensive lawsuit filed by Pretoria at the end of December 2023, accusing Tel Aviv of committing genocide crimes in Gaza.

Since last October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 117,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

Israel continues this war, ignoring a Security Council resolution demanding that it stop the fighting immediately, and orders from the Court of Justice demanding that it stop its attack on Rafah, and take immediate measures to prevent acts of genocide, and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
