Donald Trump says he spoke by phone the war in Ukraine with Vladimir Putin

The American president spoke with a journalist from the New York Post on Friday. The Kremlin says that he cannot “invalidate nor confirm”.

Donald Trump revealed that he had already had a telephone conversation – or more – with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Friday, while he was on the Air Force One presidential plane, Donald Trump spoke with a journalist from the New York Post and said about Vladimir Putin: “He wants people to stop dying.”

Donald Trump added: “Every day, people die. This war is so serious in Ukraine. I want to end it.”

The American president said that he would not reveal how many times he spoke with Vladimir Putin, but he added that they had a “Good relationship”.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov said he couldn’t “Neither confirm nor invalidate” Telephone conversation – or conversations – between the two men.

“Communications between Moscow and Washington go through different channels”he added.
