Disneyland Paris is launching a major hiring campaign, aiming to recruit 8,500 employees, with the aim of filling essential maintenance positions.
Disneyland Paris is preparing to launch a vast recruitment campaign aimed at integrating 8,500 new employees, including 1,500 on permanent contracts.
To meet the technical needs of its many attractions, the park particularly targets maintenance roles, highlighting the scarcity of resources needed for renovations.
Despite its worldwide reputation, the park faces difficulties linked to labor shortages, particularly in professions essential to maintenance.
Human resources managers at Disneyland Paris have expressed the urgency of recruiting qualified people who can maintain and repair the attractions, recognizing the fierce competition between the parks to attract this talent.
Maintenance professionals in high demand
The park is actively seeking candidates for more than thirty professions related to the renovation of attractions, including technicians and engineers. In total, more than 120 permanent positions are to be filled in this field.
The scarcity of maintenance skills is evident and beginners in the attractions sector are welcomed with the promise of a salary slightly above the minimum wage (+2%) upon starting their job.
This recruitment initiative is not unprecedented for Disneyland Paris. Last year, the park announced the hiring of several thousand employees during its annual campaign. With a current workforce of nearly 16,000 employees, the park is recognized as “one of the largest establishments in France” by the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies.
After overcoming the difficulties linked to the health crisis, which led to the temporary layoff of nearly 1,000 employees, Disneyland Paris is today focusing on the development and diversification of its workforce.
A strategic expansion plan
With the recent inauguration of “The Avengers Land” and plans to expand the next themed area, Disneyland Paris plans to increase its recruitment needs tenfold.
Park management emphasizes its growth and current projects, and says this positions Disneyland Paris as a safe bet in the theme park industry.
Following the success of Parc Astérix’s summer recruitment campaign, which saw the hiring of 2,000 seasonal workers, Disneyland Paris’ announcement is testament to the resilience and prosperity of amusement parks, an industry that seems decidedly impervious to current economic challenges.
