Foreign diplomats and supporters of Kremlin opponent Boris Nemtsov gathered this Tuesday in Moscow to commemorate the nine years of his death.

They laid flowers on the Moscow bridge where this former Deputy Prime Minister of Boris Yeltsin was shot and killed.

Boris Nemtsov was known as one of Vladimir Putin’s strongest opponents.

Five Chechens were convicted of his murder. The shooter was sentenced to twenty years in prison, but his supporters have always denounced this trial as a diversion aimed at hiding the Kremlin’s involvement.
