Details of the occupation’s losses in the Al-Damj neighborhood in Jenin and demonstrations in support of the resistance | News

Clashes continued between Palestinian resistance fighters and the occupation forces in the northern West Bank, especially in Jenin, as the Israeli army continues its extensive operation in the area for the fifth consecutive day.

Violent clashes took place on the outskirts of Jenin camp, according to what Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported. Resistance fighters also confronted occupation forces during their storming of the town of Burqin, west of Jenin, according to local media.

The Israeli army said that joint forces from the army, the Shin Bet (internal security service) and the Border Police continue to fight in Jenin, and that the military operation in the West Bank will continue.

This comes after the army announced the death of a soldier and the serious injury of an officer yesterday, Saturday, as a result of clashes that took place in the Al-Damj neighborhood in Jenin.

Channel 13 Israel said that the dead soldier was a first sergeant, and he was the commander of the squad in Battalion 906.

Scenes circulated on social media showed a number of soldiers transporting an injured soldier from inside the Al-Damj neighborhood in Jenin.

Channel 12 Israel said that the soldier was killed in a clash with two of the most prominent Hamas militants, adding that an Israeli army force killed the militants responsible for the shootings and planting explosive devices, it said.

Raids in Hebron

In the southern West Bank, the occupation forces stormed several areas in the Hebron Governorate, and Palestinian media reported hearing gunfire as the forces stormed various parts of the city of Hebron.

The occupation forces tightened their siege on the governorate after two Palestinians carried out a double operation in the Gush Etzion settlement complex north of Hebron at dawn on Saturday, which resulted in the injury of 3 Israelis, including a senior officer.

Meanwhile, demonstrations and marches took place in several areas of the West Bank on Saturday night to support the Palestinian resistance and reject the occupation’s attacks on the northern West Bank.

A march was organized in the center of Ramallah, during which the participants chanted slogans in support of the resistance and condemning the Israeli occupation operations.

Car marches also set out from Qabatiya and Meithalun towards the city of Jenin, to support its people and break the siege imposed by the Israeli army on the city.

Closing the Hizma checkpoint

On the other hand, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that the Israeli army closed the Hizma checkpoint, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, in both directions, on suspicion of a car bomb.

The correspondent explained that the army sent military reinforcements to the area after stopping the car, which had Palestinian plates.

Israeli media reported that the car was stopped after the Israeli army received intelligence information that the car was booby-trapped.

Israeli warnings

In a related context, Israeli Channel 12 quoted security sources warning that the deployment of forces in the West Bank comes at the expense of a plan that aimed to move forces to the north near the border with Lebanon.

The sources added that the military operation in the West Bank will not allow the current war objectives to be updated to include returning the residents of the north to their homes.

The Israeli newspaper “Israel Today” also reported that the Israeli army’s Central Command warned that the expansion of fighting in the West Bank would place a burden on the army’s forces.

The occupation army began its extensive operation in the West Bank at dawn last Wednesday under heavy air force cover, and the Israeli media described the attack as the largest of its kind since Operation Defensive Shield in 2002.

The army has escalated its attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, coinciding with its ongoing war on Gaza for nearly 11 months, killing more than 670 Palestinians, including 150 children, injuring more than 5,400, and arresting more than 10,000.
