Demonstrations denouncing the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the Rafah massacres, and demanding their cessation, continued in a number of cities and capitals around the world, especially on the European continent.
The demonstrators demanded an end to the war and the punishment of those responsible for the genocide in Gaza, which is witnessing a devastating aggression that left tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of them women and children, and unprecedented destruction of infrastructure, buildings, hospitals and schools.
Thousands of demonstrators came out in the French capital, Paris, to denounce the massacre committed by the Israeli army in Rafah, and demanded an immediate ceasefire and the implementation of international court decisions.
The police prevented the demonstrators from reaching the Israeli embassy in Paris.
The longest protest movement in France
Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent Muhammad Al-Baqali said that the demonstrators went out in Paris for the third day in a row since the Rafah massacre, to denounce it and to demand an end to the aggression against Gaza.
He pointed out that the protest movement raised two slogans that remained constant in almost all of its demonstrations over the past months: “Israel is a killer” and “France is complicit,” which shows the disappointment of these demonstrators and their rejection of their government’s positions, according to the reporter.
He pointed out that these demonstrations, their continuation and their extension in time and place, indicate that the Gaza issue has taken on new dimensions in France at the popular level, unlike the official level. This movement began about 8 months ago, which means that it is the longest movement inside France regarding an external issue.
3 demonstrations in Berlin
The German capital, Berlin, also witnessed two demonstrations, and the third demonstration is expected to be held this evening.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent said that the organizers of these demonstrations are a wide spectrum of German solidarity activists, including students, leftists, and Jews who are against the Israeli government and supporters of the Palestinian cause.
He added that they believe that Israel was not able to continue this genocide except with a green light from the West, specifically from Germany and the United States.
In Britain, thousands demonstrated in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in London to denounce the Israeli massacres against the Palestinians in Rafah.
The demonstrators demanded that the British government condemn the Israeli aggression and stop arms exports to Tel Aviv.
In Belgium, police dispersed with water cannons protesters who tried to reach the Israeli embassy building, during a demonstration to protest the bombing of the Rafah area in the Gaza Strip.
The police set up barriers to prevent demonstrators from reaching the embassy building, located south of Brussels.
Protests in front of the White House
In Washington, hundreds of people demonstrated in front of the White House in Washington, DC, to protest the Israeli invasion of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, and the US administration’s complicity with it.
Arab Americans, Muslims, and others from other ethnic and religious backgrounds gathered in front of the White House on Tuesday evening, and expressed their criticism of Israel and the Biden administration.
The demonstrators chanted anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian slogans, accusing Tel Aviv of continuing genocidal crimes in Gaza.
The demonstrators accused President Joe Biden’s administration of colluding with Israel through banners they raised, and stressed the need for the United States not to send weapons to Israel.
The demonstrators chanted slogans such as Free Palestine and Stop the Genocide in Gaza, and stressed the need to put Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on trial.
The organizers indicated that larger demonstrations would be organized against Israel in the coming days, and called on the US administration to immediately cease fire in Gaza.
Since last October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip with absolute American support, leaving more than 117,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and about 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.
Israel continues this war, ignoring a Security Council resolution demanding that it stop the fighting immediately, and orders from the Court of Justice demanding that it stop its attack on Rafah, take immediate measures to prevent acts of genocide, and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
