The United Nations called for “an end to the unlawful killing” of Palestinians subjected to siege and intensified attacks by Israel.

The High Commissioner for Human Rights stated – in a post on the X platform – that reports indicate that Israeli forces are continuing their operations in the West Bank and have killed at least 9 Palestinians.

She explained that yesterday morning, Wednesday, Israeli forces killed 5 Palestinian men in an air strike on a car near the Balata refugee camp in Nablus in the West Bank.

She added that in a separate air strike incident, Israeli forces killed at least 4 other Palestinians, including 3 children, while storming the Tulkarm refugee camp.

She stated that the two incidents, according to preliminary information, “raise concerns about the occurrence of unlawful killings,” stressing the need for Israel to ensure that an “urgent, independent and effective” investigation is conducted in this regard.

“The unlawful killing of Palestinians must stop,” she continued.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on Gaza that, as of Wednesday, left 24,448 dead and 61,504 injured, and caused the displacement of more than 85% (about 1.9 million people) of the Strip’s population, according to the Palestinian authorities and the United Nations.
