The Czech Republic is organizing training for Ukrainian airline pilots who dream of the return of peace to their country.

Around twenty Ukrainian pilots training in Prague to fly hours in a peaceful country.

The apprentices fly on 4-seater single-engine planes and dream of one day piloting airliners in their country.

Jan Lipavský, Czech Foreign Minister: “Once the fighting ends, Ukraine will need a rapid reconstruction of its infrastructure, of which civil air transport is an integral part.

The flights of future Ukrainian airline pilots are financed by Ukraine’s allies and in particular a donation from the United States.

Danylo pilot in training: “It’s a very good thing for us, because we can practice flying and prepare ourselves to become European pilots.”

Viera Lytvyn Ukrainian pilot in training: “If the war ends by then, I will of course fly to Ukraine, that’s where I was born. I would like to fly to the airport Boryspil International Airport, near Kiyv, or something like that, but it depends.”

Jiri Skacerl, Euronews: “After the first year of study in the Czech Republic, Ukrainian students should receive a business license. AAfter two years, they should also be allowed to carry out civilian flights anywhere in Europe.”
