Cyber attacks began against the Iranians months before the Israeli attack technology

More than 20 Iranian citizens residing inside and outside the country were subjected to advanced cyber security attacks with specific targets months before the start of the Israeli war, according to a report published by “Bloomberg”.

The MIAN Group Digital Human Rights reached a number of Iranians who received alerts from “Apple” that there was a breakthrough in their phones in the first half of this year, according to the Bloomberg report.

It should be noted that these alerts that Apple sends to the victims of cyber attacks are evidence of the attacks, as the company does not send it randomly and is clearly dedicated, as mentioned in the report.

Researchers at the “Mayyan” organization believe that they only recognized a part of the victims of this cybersecurity, which is reinforced by the discovery of another group of 12 additional victims discovered by security researcher Hamid Kashefi, founder of Darkcell, according to the report.

The attack was taking advantage of the “Today zero” and “Zero Click” vulnerability, which is the most advanced among cyber attacks (Al -Jazeera)

“Bloomberg” confirms through the report that this incident is the first of its kind that depends on sophisticated cyber tools targeting Iranians living inside and outside the country, and links cyber and vicious attacks.

This is according to the statements of “Mayyan”, which confirmed that the penetrated group included two Iranian opponents inside the country as well as an Iranian technical employee living in Europe, all of whom use “iPhone” devices and received the penetration notice from “Apple”.

For his part, Kashefi confirmed that he discovered 12 victims living in Iran and worked in the technical sector in the country or the sensitive government sector, but Kashfi refused to reveal their jobs accurately for fear of their safety, according to the “Bloomberg” report.

In his interview with “Bloomberg”, Kashefi added that this attack most likely used the “Safar” gap that does not require any interaction from the victim with the phone or attack messages, and it is one of the most complex and most expensive cyber attacks.

“Bloomberg” also reviewed a copy of the alert that reaches the users of “Apple” who have been hacked, and it confirms that similar cyber attacks are very rare and expensive and are probably directed to this person specifically because of his position.

However, Apple did not attribute the attack on any known group or entity, in addition to this, the “Mayyan” system or detecting individually could not reach the victims’ phones and analyze them appropriately, as some refused this matter, preferring to send phones to the relevant Iranian authorities, according to what was explained, and besides that some attacks were discovered several months after they occurred; This hides any evidence on the phone.
