Colleague Wael Al Dahdouh, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent in Gaza, began his medical journey at Hamad Medical City in the Qatari capital, Doha, after the injury he suffered in mid-December.
The injury resulted from an Israeli bombing that targeted the Tel Aviv Tribune team during field coverage in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, and led to its injury and the death of fellow photographer Samer Abu Daqqa.
At Hamad General Hospital, our colleague Wael underwent a series of medical examinations, in preparation for the necessary treatment for him after the injury he sustained.
Our colleague Wael arrived on Tuesday in the Qatari capital, Doha, on board a Qatari evacuation plane that he took from Al-Arish after leaving the Rafah border crossing.
Israel killed Al-Dahdouh’s wife, son, daughter, and infant grandson, in an air strike in southern Gaza on October 25, despite the occupation forces announcing before the attack that the area was safe.
On January 7, Al-Dahdouh was shocked by the martyrdom of his eldest son, journalist Hamza, along with his colleague Mustafa Thuraya, when the occupation targeted their car in Gaza.
During more than 100 days of war waged by the Israeli occupation on Gaza, Al-Dahdouh remained present on Tel Aviv Tribune around the clock, covering developments in the war, especially in its humanitarian aspect and the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip.
