The cold has not finished biting Europe. The majority of French departments are placed on yellow alert, the south of Belgium remains on red alert.

Snow and ice continue to paralyze France. From Normandy to the Ardennes via Île-de-France, 75 departments are placed on yellow alert due to traffic problems on major roads. Some precipitation is expected this Friday, but temperatures will only rise again from next week, according to Météo-France.

In the south-east of Belgium, motorists also encounter difficulties getting around. The roads of Wallonia are in “Red alert” due to weather conditions. Nearly 11 cm of snow fell in some parts of the country.

But for some residents, these white landscapes are an opportunity to take out the sled… and have a good time.

In Norway, more accustomed to harsh winters, we have even more fun: the members of the men’s national Beach Volleyball team, gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, organized a training session in deep snow, which replaces sand perfectly.
