An analysis conducted by CNN revealed that the Israeli army used American weapons – in its attack yesterday evening, Wednesday – on a school belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza.

The American network said that this is the second time in two weeks that it has been able to verify the use of munitions manufactured in the United States in deadly attacks on displaced Palestinians in Gaza.

CNN indicated that the first time was during a raid launched by Israel on a camp for displaced people in Rafah on May 26.

Dozens of martyrs

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported earlier that at least 40 people were killed and dozens injured – most of them children and women – as a result of the occupation aircraft bombing the school housing displaced people in the Nuseirat camp.

The government office in Gaza said that among the martyrs were 14 children and 9 women, and it confirmed that 74 displaced persons were injured, including 23 children and 18 women.

He added that the displacement center targeted by the occupation last night bears the number 149, which is being targeted in the Gaza Strip by being bombed with aircraft missiles or tank shells.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza described what happened in this school as a horrific massacre, and said that the number of martyrs is likely to increase as a result of the increase in the number of injuries and their seriousness.

Without warning

Commenting on the attack, UNRWA said – today – that the occupation army bombed the school “without warning.”

The agency’s commissioner-general, Philippe Lazzarini, said on the

Lazzarini explained that the school was housing 6,000 displaced people when it was bombed.

Israeli allegations

On the other hand, the occupation army justified its attack on the school by saying that its aircraft targeted a group of members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Islamic Jihad who participated in the attack of last October 7 in the Gaza Strip.

The occupation army claimed that the operation enabled the “assassination” of members who were planning operations soon, claiming that it had taken several measures from the air before the bombing to reduce civilian casualties.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the occupation forces committed 6 massacres during the past 24 hours, confirming that the number of victims of the aggression – since the seventh of last October, on the besieged Strip – had risen to 36,654 martyrs, and 83,309 injured.
