There is no greater pleasure for the fans than seeing a local player who ascends to the coronation platforms and proves himself as a key player in the first team, but there are players who left their clubs to return to it after years.

James Trafford is a very recent example, as the goalkeeper joined Manchester City in 2015, at the age of 12, but was sold to Burnley after 8 years without participating in any match with the first team.

Two years later in Claritz, Trafford returned to City, and it seems that he will be the first goalkeeper.

Here is a list of the most prominent players who have returned to their clubs, which they had come to after leaving:

1- Spanish Cesc Fabregas (from Arsenal to Barcelona): Fabregas left Barcelona almost the same time with Gerard Pique (Manchester United), to return from Arsenal for $ 34 million in 2011.

The Spaniard played 151 games with Barcelona in all competitions, scoring 42 goals and providing 50 decisive passes.

2- German Mats Hummels (from Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich): The heart of the defense was a graduate of Bayern Munich Academy. Before joining Borussia Dortmund on loan, Hummels participated in one match in the German League with the Bavarian club.

His loan period, which lasted for one season in Dortmund, led to a permanent transition, and under the leadership of Juergen Klopp, Hummels has established his position as one of the best defense centers defenders in Europe.

Bayern Hummels closely watched and paid a huge amount to secure his return in 2016, paying more than $ 45 million.

3- Spaniard Danny Carvajal (from Bayer Leverkusen to Real Madrid): Danny Carvajal’s history in the German League is often forgotten with Bayer Leverkusen. But the Spanish player made a name for himself in Germany in the 2012-2013 season, and drew the attention of Real Madrid.

Carvajal grew up at the Real Madrid Academy “La Fabrica” to become a key player in the Castilla team.

Leverkusen was looking for a right back in the summer of 2012, and he found Carvajal, but Real Madrid added a condition for re -purchase if he wanted to renew his contract after one season.

In 2013 the Royal Club paid the value of the penalty clause in the player’s contract with Bayer Leverkusen, which amounts to (6.5) million euros to return it to the Bernabeu.

4- French Paul Pogba (from Juventus to Manchester United): Paul Pogba was a basic pillar of the Manchester United youth team before it became clear that his chances of reaching the first team under Sir Alex Ferguson are limited.

He joined Juventus in a free transfer deal, and developed to become a midfielder in Turin, which made him a goal for some clubs, but Manchester United preceded everyone and signed with the French for $ 119 million.

5- Spanish Alvaro Morata (from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid): He started his career with Atletico between 2005 and 2007, before joining a short period to Getafe, then he finally moved to the famous Real Madrid factory “La Fabrica”.

He appeared for the first time with the first team in 2010 as an alternative to Angel de Maria and played 52 games with Los Blancos before joining Juventus.

The Spanish player spent two seasons in the “old lady”, then returned to Real Madrid, then joined Chelsea before returning to Atletico Madrid again.

6- Spaniard Rodri (from Villarreal to Atletico Madrid): Rodri spent a few years at the Atletico Madrid Academy, where he joined him at the age of 11, coming from Rayo Makhdahonda in 2007. But Rodri was separated from the team in 2013 due to “his physical weakness”, to finally join Villarreal.

Rodri has emerged strongly with the “yellow submarine”, and Atletico Madrid realized his mistakes, so they returned him to Madrid in 2018 for about 27 million dollars, and developed to become the player we know today as he leads the Manchester City midfield now after winning the Golden Ball award.

7- German Marco Royce (from Borussia Monchengladbach to Borussia Dortmund): Dortmund legend, in the youth ranks, was included in the summer of 2006, later joined the Root Weiss Ahly, one of the fifth -class teams.

After the rapid climb of Root Weiss, Royce shone at the age of 19 in the German second division in the 2008-2009 season.

Borussia Monchengladbach rushed to annex him, and he continued with him for a while before Dortmund included his ranks for $ 23 million to leave the club last summer as a legend.

8- English Danny Ings (from Liverpool to Southampton): His departure from the Academy was also proven expensive, as Southampton paid $ 24 million to contract with the Ingas from Liverpool in 2019.

9- Spaniard Jordi Alba (from Valencia to Barcelona): Barcelona dispensed with Jordi Alba in 2005, according to reports, for his short stature.

In 2012 Barcelona spent about 19 million dollars to contract with Alba from Valencia.

Krauch returned to Queens Park Rangers, before moving to Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Norwich City, Southampton, Liverpool, then to Portsmouth again.

11- French Nicholas Anilka (from Real Madrid to Paris Saint-Germain): In 1997 Arsene Wenger contracted Nicolas Anilka, a teenager for a small amount of $ 668,000.

At the time, the 17 -year -old was only participated in a few games as a substitute with Paris Saint -Germain.

But a year later, he won the Premier League and the FA Cup with Arsenal, scoring a goal in the FA Cup final against Newcastle United.

ANLECA’s missile rise pushed Real Madrid to sign him for $ 30 million in 1999.

His time in Santiago Bernabeu lasted only one season after the Parisian team paid $ 30 million to re -contract him the following year.
