Silent displacement

Meanwhile, a Palestinian human rights organization warned, on Monday, of a soft displacement and silent disinfection that Israel pursued in the West Bank against the Bedouin communities in the northern Jordan Valley, and demanded international protection for civilians in the region.

The Bedouin Rights Defense Organization said in a statement that the Jordan Valley is witnessing a dangerous escalation within a series of violations practiced by the occupation forces and settler militias against the Palestinians.

She explained that what the Bedouin communities are exposed to in the Jordan Valley are a soft pilgrimage and a silent purification of the Palestinians in the region.

She added that the attacks of the Israeli settlers and the army are not random events, but rather part of a systematic Israeli policy aimed at dismantling the social and economic structure of the Palestinians in the Jordan Valley.

The Jordan Valley extends from Bisan to Safed in the north and from Ain Al -Jadi to the Negev in the south, and from the middle of the Jordan River to the eastern slopes of the West Bank in the west.

The Jordan Valley constitutes about 30% of the West Bank, with a total area of 720 thousand dunums (dunim equals a thousand square meters), administratively followed 3 governorates: Tubas, Nablus, the northern West Bank and Jericho, in the middle of it, and inhabited by about 70 thousand people, according to the Palestinian National Information Center (government).

According to the human rights organization, the Jordan Valley is one of the most important agricultural and pastoral areas in the West Bank, and it constitutes a basic source of livelihood for hundreds of families that depend on raising sheep and agriculture as a source of livelihood.

For his part, the general supervisor of the organization, Hassan Malihat, told Anatolia that the number of Bedouin communities in the West Bank reaches 212, 64 of which were displaced, and the number of its displaced members reaches about 9 thousand people.

Earlier on Monday, the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority (government) announced that the Israeli army and settlers carried out last July 1821 attacks in the West Bank, including the East Jerusalem, including 466 attacks committed by settlers, and led to the death of 4 Palestinian citizens.

Parallel to the war of extermination in Gaza, the Israeli army and the settlers climbed their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which resulted in the death of at least 1013 Palestinians, and the injury of about 7,000, in addition to the arrest of more than 18 thousand and 500, according to Palestinian data.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with American support, has launched a mass extermination war in Gaza, more than 210,000 Palestinians have left a martyr and a wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 9 thousand missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people, and the famine that has tasted many lives.
