During the recent years of the rule of ousted President Bashar al -Assad, relations between Jordan and Syria witnessed tensions, before it improved after the fall of the regime in Damascus.
In the past few months, talks took place at the highest levels between Syrian and Jordanian officials, and the two sides agreed to strengthen relations in various fields.
Last April, the two countries agreed to form a higher coordination council that includes multiple sectors, including energy, health, industry, trade, transport, agriculture and water.
