Israeli bombardments continue on Gaza, causing more deaths and damage.

It has been a tense week in the Middle East since a fragile ceasefire was put in place in Lebanon.

The US president’s announcement shortly thereafter of his intention to turn his attention to Gaza reinforced hopes for a truce in the Gaza Strip.

Behind the scenes, efforts are reportedly underway to return to the table in an attempt to end Israeli violence and facilitate the release of captives. But on the ground, Israeli bombings are incessant.

The United Nations says food and aid delivery to Gaza is at an all-time low.

Will violence derail American plans? And what will happen once Donald Trump takes power, in less than two months?

Presenter: James Berries
