CAN 2024: Tunisia at the door, Ivory Coast qualified thanks to Morocco

The group stage delivered its verdict in this 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations. Tunisia, non-existent during this CAN, was eliminated by South Africa, which validates its ticket. Morocco, for its part, secured first place in its group, eliminating Zambia… and qualifying Ivory Coast at the same time!

Despite a humiliating defeat against Equatorial Guinea (0-4), Ivory Coast finally validates its ticket for the round of 16, finishing among the best thirds in the first round of CAN 2024. It can thank Morocco, which finished at the top of group F after its victory over Zambia (1-0), ahead of DR Congo, which did the minimum against Tanzania (0-0).

A little earlier, in group E, Namibia created the feat by qualifying for the first time in its history for the direct elimination phase of the CAN, obtaining a draw against Mali (0-0). No miracle, however, for Tunisia, which finished last in the group after its draw against South Africa, for whom this result was enough to move into the eighth (0-0).
