The second day of the African Cup began on Thursday and has already seen its share of surprises. Ivory Coast lost to Nigeria, so that first place in Group A was taken by Equatorial Guinea, winner of Guinea-Bissau. As for Group C, Ghana and Egypt neutralized each other in a match marked by the injury of Mohamed Salah.
The host country, Ivory Coast, was surprised at home against Victor Osimhen’s Nigeria. A victory on the smallest score (1-0) obtained thanks to a penalty gleaned by the African player of the year 2023. Ivory Coast is third in its group before the last day.

It is ahead of Group A by Equatorial Guinea, which largely beat Guinea-Bissau, the smallest player in the group. And finally, in the other shock of the evening, the Egyptian Pharaohs were very scared against Ghana. Twice behind, they came back to the score thanks to two goals offered on a plate by the Ghanaians. But the very bad news of the evening was the injury to Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian star striker, who left before half-time after touching the back of his thigh. We will know in the coming days if his competition is over.
