Today, Saturday, the British police charged 3 Iranians of “suspicion of espionage” and crimes under the National Security Law after a major investigation in combating terrorism.
Police said in a statement that Mustafa Sibahind, Farahad Jawadi Manish, and Shabur Qali Khani Nuri were accused of being involved in behavior that is likely to help a foreign intelligence service between August 14, 2024 and February 16, 2025.
She added that the foreign state with which the charges relate to is Iran.
The British anti -terrorist police arrested 8 men – including 7 Iranians – earlier this month in two separate operations, in what the British Minister of Interior described as the largest investigation of its kind in the past few years.
In turn, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji previously expressed his annoyance at the arrest of the British authorities.
The British government put Iran at the highest level in the record of foreign influence, which requires Tehran to record everything it does to practice political influence in Britain.
The Iranian judiciary arrested British citizens last December for spying and collecting information under the cover of tourism.
Historically, Iranian -British relations witnessed repeated crises related to double nationality, as Tehran has already been accused of using a political pressure paper, which is denied by the Iranian authorities, stressing that security issues are considered according to local laws without external considerations.
