In its ground attack – continuing on the northern Gaza Strip governorate for the seventh day in a row – Israel used the weapon of “bomb robots” as part of the acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing it is committing against the Palestinians there.
Anadolu Agency quoted a Palestinian security source, who preferred to remain anonymous, that the Israeli army used explosive robots during its ground attack on Jabalia to inflict the largest amount of material and human losses.
The source explained that the use of this weapon recently caused the destruction of an entire residential square consisting of a number of houses, in the Al-Faluga neighborhood, west of Jabalia camp, and the remains of two explosive barrels that were inside the exploded robots appeared at the site of the explosion.
What is a bomb robot?
The security source stated that the explosive robots are Israeli military vehicles loaded with barrels (weighing tons) of explosives that move between homes and residential blocks, and are controlled remotely by the Israeli army.
He explained that Israel resorts to using this type of weapon to inflict the largest possible number of human losses among citizens, as part of its war of annihilation in the Gaza Strip, noting that these robots have enormous explosive capacity, as they are capable of destroying an entire residential neighborhood.
The security source said that this weapon was used for the first time during the previous invasion of the former Jabalia camp last May, when the Palestinians discovered that an Israeli troop carrier had entered between residential homes.
He pointed out that Palestinian fighters thought the vehicle was manned, so they targeted it, causing a massive explosion in the area. It later turned out to be a robot carrying explosive fire barrels.
A video clip, published by Tel Aviv Tribune on May 22, documented the Israeli army’s use of explosive robots during the storming of Jabalia at the time.
The Israeli army launched its previous ground attack on Jabalia camp between 12 and 31 May, leaving massive destruction in the place.
For the seventh day in a row, the Israeli army launches a ground attack on the northern Gaza Strip, concentrated in the areas of Beit Hanoun, Beit Lahia, and Jabalia Camp, in an attempt to empty those areas of Palestinians.
On October 6, the Israeli army announced the start of a ground military operation in Jabalia under the pretext of preventing Hamas from regaining its power in the region, hours after the start of a fierce attack on the eastern and western regions in the northern Gaza Strip, including Jabalia, the most violent since last May.
