Gaza’s children return to class in tents while the education system collapses
I survived the Gaza genocide to attend the Western complicity of the first hand | Israeli-Palestine conflict
I write this from Paris, a city wrapped in blue and yellow. All around me, Ukrainian flags hang like moral badges pinned on French facades.
I arrived in this city just a few weeks ago as a survivor of the genocide in Gaza, leaving my country burning behind me. I had the privilege of being evacuated by the French government as a student admitted to a French university.
What first struck me in Paris, this so-called city of Liberty is its organized sorrow, its sanctioned empathy and its decorated silence.
France cries Ukraine aloud. Gaza, on the other hand, must be whispered. The Palestinian flag cannot be seen here. He is hidden, feared, criminalized. If you are lucky, you find it painted in graffiti, a timid declaration of solidarity has hastily sprayed as a secret.
Should I be surprised?
After all, France is a colonial empire that has never dismantled, but has not been renamed. From Algeria to Vietnam via Syria, the hands of France are stained with the blood of those who dared to resist it.
When France supported the Zionist movement in the 20th century, when it formed Israeli officers, when it helped to militarize a colonial state of the colonists on stolen lands, it was not out of ignorance. It was in solidarity, white solidarity, with another colonial project.
France condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine in a few hours. He opened his borders. He cried on television. He canceled the concerts and imposed sanctions. For what? Because Ukraine is white.
But when Israel applauded entire districts of Gaza, when he bombes hospitals, hugs of children, cuts water, tastes of prohibited weapons and puts families in bone dust, France hesitates. He is equivalent. He blamed Hamas. He insists on the “context”. This tends to Israel even more weapons.
What is happening in Gaza is not a “conflict”. It is not “complicated”. It is a genocide.
According to official statistics, more than 63,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 7, 2023; According to scientific estimates, the real number of deaths is in hundreds of thousands. More than 70% are women and children.
More than 80% of the population survives, barely, on one meal a day, often canned food or grass or cooked leaves. Every day we lose dozens of civilians trying to get help. Some 340 children and adults died in famine in just a few months.
Each northern hospital has been destroyed. Children are amputated without anesthesia. People with chronic diseases die on a mass scale due to the lack of drugs and treatment.
Help trucks are blocked. The water desalination plants are bombed. More than two million people are moved. And yet there is silence.
Experts from the United Nations, all major international human rights organizations, thousands of legal researchers and others, and even former Israeli officials said that this war had crossed all the red lines of international law.
And yet, here in France, we are told to lower our voices. We are told that screaming the “free Palestine” could be anti -Semitic. People who are waving the Ukrainian flags with pride tell us that our sorrow must be “balanced”. They rage against Russian imperialism but justify colonialism of Israeli colonists. It is not a neutrality. It is white supremacy.
Gaza has become their moral exception. Their blindness. Their other consumable. The news each editorial room twists to avoid.
But here is the truth: Palestine has no army, no jets, no ships, no nuclear weapons. What we have is resistance. Hamas is not a state soldier. It is the result of decades of siege, occupation, apartheid and abandonment. And while European leaders rush to condemn Hamas on each occasion they obtain, they refuse to condemn the occupation which gave birth to it. They erase our right to resist, while glorifying the Ukrainian resistance, holding them on weapons and praise.
In Ukraine, Molotov cocktails are “heroism”. In Gaza, the stones are “terrorism”. It is hypocrisy. It is the algorithm of white empathy.
What is happening in Gaza is not a war between two armies. It is the destruction of the scale of a people occupied by one of the most advanced armies in the world. It is a genocide helped by Western arms, protected by Western silence and embellished by humanitarian lies.
France wants to claim that its complicity is historic, that it ended with the end of formal colonialism. But how do you explain the weapons? Diplomatic immunity? The refusal to respect the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu? The ban on pro-Palestinian demonstrations in Paris? Monitoring Muslim students?
I left Gaza in an evacuation of the United Nations, organized by the French consulate in Jerusalem, my name selected from thousands. I was not allowed to wear anything. No laptop. No books. No memories. Just the clothes on the back and my phone.
I crossed Israeli control points where the soldiers looked at me as if I was not human. Four hours through the desert felt four decades. And now, I am there, walking on the boulevards of a city that claims to love freedom, while my people die for daring to want it.
Do not tell me that it is only politics. It’s racism. It is hypocrisy. The genocide of my people is watched from balconies draped with Ukrainian flags.
I don’t want pity. I want a responsibility. I want justice. I want to see Palestinian flags suspended next to those of Ukraine, not as competition, but as a truth. Because if solidarity depends on the color of the skin, borders or geopolitical interest, it is not solidarity. It is supremacy.

The famine induced by the Israelis in Gaza kills 185 in August, 13 more in 24 hours | News Israel-Palestine Conflict
More than 360 people, including 130 children, died of hunger since the start of the genocidal war of Israel against Gaza.
Posted on September 2, 2025September 2, 2025
A total of 185 people in Gaza died “due to malnutrition” in August, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, while 13 other people, including three children, have died in 24 hours since then, because the catastrophic effects of the famine induced by Israeli in the enclave gets worse.
The press release published on Tuesday said that more than 83 people, including 15 children, died since the integrated classification of the food security phase (IPC), a world hunger hunger system supported by the United Nations, said last month that certain parts of Gaza suffered a full -fledged famine.
The Ministry of Health also said that 43,000 children under the age of five suffered from malnutrition as well as more than 55,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women. Two-thirds of pregnant women have suffered from anemia, the highest rate in years, he added. Mothers and newborns are most at risk of malnutrition.
The total number of deaths linked to hunger in the besieged enclave is now 361, including 130 children, since the start of the genocidal war of Israel against Gaza on October 7, 2023.
Israel killed at least 63,633 people in Gaza and injured 160,914 during the war, according to the Ministry of Health.
The IPC said on August 22 that 514,000 people in the Gaza Strip, nearly a quarter of the enclosure population, know famine. He expected the number to reach 641,000 at the end of September.
The IPC made its declaration after more than 22 months of war, during which Israeli forces destroyed medical facilities, schools, infrastructure and bakeries; blocked the entrance to the aid in the besieged band; And targeted and killed the Palestinians looking for food aid.
This is the first time that the IPC has recorded famine outside of Africa, and the world group predicted that famine conditions have spread to Deir El-Balah in the center of Gaza and Khan Younis south by the end of this month.
After the IPC declaration, the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres described the famine “artificial disaster, a moral indictment and a failure of humanity itself”.
Guterres said that Israel had “unequivocal obligations” under international law as occupying power to guarantee that food and medical supplies enter Gaza.
Humanitarian organizations have requested action. For his part, Israel rejected the conclusions, saying that there was no famine in Gaza despite the overwhelming evidence of the IPC.
At least 78 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since dawn on Tuesday, including 42 in Gaza City, at medical sources in Tel Aviv Tribune. Among the killed, 20 were aid seekers located in the center and southern Gaza.
Israeli attacks are mainly, but not only, now focused on Gaza City, the largest urban center in the territory, while the Israeli army relentlessly bombard and tries to force its residents to the southern part of the enclave.
“Civilians on the ground have the weight. There are still hundreds of thousands of families in Gaza City, “reported Tel Aviv Tribune Tareq Abu Azzoum at noon de Deir el-Balah. “They refuse to leave because they know that there are no safe spaces in the center and the south of Gaza and that they prefer to stay close to their communities and what remains of their houses.”
Once swarming and crowded with residential buildings, Gaza City houses a million Palestinians, almost half of the Gaza population, but it is now a landscape of rubble.
The best specialists in the world genocide have officially declared that the War of Israel against Gaza responds to the legal definition of genocide, marking a historic intervention of main experts in the field of international law.
The International Association of Genocide scholars, a body of academics of 500 members founded in 1994, adopted a resolution declaring on Monday that the policies and actions of Israel in Gaza fulfill the definition of the genocide stated during the 1948 UN Convention for the prevention and punishment of the crime of the genocide.
What if … the United States stopped supporting Israel tomorrow? | Benjamin Netanyahu News
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was able to count on the absolute support of the United States throughout the war of his country against Gaza.
While the administration of former American president Joe Bidre may have sometimes expressed discomfort in the crises she permeated in Gaza, the administration of Donald Trump has not yet presented similar scruples, even if far in February to suggest that the whole population of Gaza is cleaned ethnically.
American support was vital for the Israel war machine, providing weapons that helped Israel kill more than 63,000 people in Gaza. Diplomatically, he used his veto to the United Nations Security Council to block the ceasefire requests in Gaza, despite the number of deaths.
He also supported Israel at the International Court of Justice, where Israel is accused of genocide and sanctioned international members of the criminal court who issued arrest mandates against Netanyahu and former Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant for war crimes.
The potential complicity of the United States in what many states and agencies recognize as a genocide has been called by rights defense groups, which call it to stop its support for Israel.
But what’s going on if it was? What would happen if the United States ended all support for Israel tomorrow?
We asked four experts what they think: Hamze Attar, defense analyst; Ori Goldberg, Israeli political scientist; Ha Helyer, senior scholarship in the Royal United Service Institute and Center for American Progress; And Daniel Levy, former adviser to the Israeli government.
What would happen internationally?
“I have the impression that many Western states which originally supported Israel now feel particularly helpless and are now really ready for the fall of Israel. For many, even Germany, the post-war bond that linked them to Israel has become so effiled that it will probably not hold the United States.
“I suppose that (if the American support for Israel has ended tomorrow), they would all move immediately against Israel, even if no one would really want to be the first.
“I do not know what form it would take, be it sanctions, nor even the promulgation of chapter 7 (of the United Nations Charter, authorizing immediate intervention), but it would be fast.” – Ori Goldberg
What would happen regionally? Is Israel attacked, as he claims?
“I think that if you have suddenly withdrawn the United States from the equation, you would remove the greatest (obstacle) to a kind of regulation.
“The imperative of Israel to really integrate into the region will always be a priority of second or third level, because American support subscribes its ability to act with impunity, as we have seen vis-à-vis Palestinians, Lebanese and Syrians, etc.
“This idea that Israel is a step to be attacked is not the case and, would say, has not been the case for decades.
“The Syrian army is not currently due to Israel, which is countered because of the United States. They do not want to attack because they are not interested in more wars, they know that they would face massive resistance; The same goes for others. ” – Ha hellyer
What would happen financially?
“Israel is very dependent on the United States financially, but it would not collapse completely.
“Increasingly, Israel depends on the high-tech weapon sector, many of which the United States supports, in terms of help as well as almost unlimited R&D opportunities.
“But Israel is also based on the economic level of having the United States in its corner, such as a coach who waits with the towel (loan guarantees and other support mechanisms).
“I think that the loss of night of support in the United States would make things difficult, but it would not be immediate, until we can see massive layoffs in large technological companies and that soldiers are starting to vacillate.” – Ori Goldberg
What would happen in Israeli politics?
“Not as much as you think. The community of settlers of Israel is already raised to its own reserve. They will continue with what they see as their mission given by God, whatever happens.
“Netanyahu would probably also continue. He is not a magician.
“Of course, he was reciting it. He could say that the reason we attacked Gaza was so that we would never have to depend on another state again, but I think he would probably survive.” – Ori Goldberg
“America has really been the gift that continues to give, in particular Israeli law. If a democrat is in power, he can say: “Look to what extent we manage them.
“And if someone like Trump is in power, he can say,” Listen, we have to do something good: the United States agrees with us. “Anyway, they acquire legitimacy.
“Regarding its internal policy and treatment of Palestinians, the United States also gives absolute impunity to Israel. For example, his politicians can carry out a genocidal war against Gaza or encourage colonies without apparent cost.
“In any other company, this cost would come from other states, or from the moral compass of their own society. We do not seem to have none of them here. ” – Daniel Levy
What would happen to his soldiers?
“If the United States has disappeared tomorrow, Israel could probably maintain its war in Gaza for about a year, but its priorities would change because it has become much more vulnerable.
“For example, they would be very aware that each ball or bomb they used in Gaza was less for their own defense.
“Without the United States, the blocking of commercial satellites on which Israel is based to obscure its territory ended.
“The loss of the United States would also mean that Israel must go in search of other military suppliers, most likely NATO countries in Europe, because a large part of the equipment is compatible. However, Europe already having a deficit of weapons compared to what it considers as the threat of Russia, this will not happen quickly.
“Europe will also invoice Israel weapons which – as part of the current military aid program – the United States does not do so, so even if another country has intensified, Israel will not be able to afford to buy weapons on something like the scale it has.” – Hamze Attar
What would happen to Gaza and in occupied West Bank?
“I think that once the senior army levels have heard of what was going on, they would call on the war to end immediately.” – Ori Goldberg
“I think that the central bank and the army would almost immediately realize that they did not have arms or money to continue the war.
“After that, according to what other states do, both regionally and in the West, war would become politically and economically unbearable.” – Daniel Levy
“I guess they would adopt a relaxation scheme in Gaza and the West Bank, which ended time. Israel’s reputation in terms of international public opinion is already at the bottom of the rock, but American support has protected it from real international responsibility.
“Essentially, without the United States, Israel would be treated as an international state of pariah, such as apartheid South Africa. – Ha hellyer
Belgium To recognize the Palestinian State, impose sanctions on Israel | News Israel-Palestine Conflict
Belgium will recognize the state of Palestine to the United Nations General Assembly (Unga) later this month, announced the Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxime Prevot.
“Palestine will be recognized by Belgium during the United Nations session! And firm sanctions will be imposed on the Israeli government,” Prévot wrote Tuesday, who is also assistant.
Israel will be confronted with 12 sanctions from Belgium, said prevot, in particular the ban on the importation of products from illegal Israeli colonies in occupied West Bank and “an examination of public procurement policies with Israeli companies”.
Prévot, a member of the Centrist commits them to the party, or the committed, said that Belgium was committing to “in the light of the humanitarian tragedy which takes place in Palestine, in particular in Gaza”.
“We have seen the horrible situation on the ground, with people who die of hunger, and it is completely unacceptable. Cutting all humanitarian aid is a war crime,” he told Tel Aviv Tribune.
He added that the decision also came in the wake of the revival of Israel of the illegal E1 regulation project in the occupied East Jerusalem and illegal settlement expansions “to preserve the possibility of a two-state solution”.
Recognition must be with “no condition”
The Belgian Foreign Minister, however, said that recognition would only be formalized once the last captive has been released from Gaza and that “Hamas no longer has a role in the management of Palestine”.
“From an intellectual point of view, the recognition of a state should be without conditions. But we must also manage the different sensitivities within the Belgian coalition. We are five parts, and we are not necessarily aligned,” said Prevot.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the announcement of Belgium and called on other countries to follow “to intensify practical efforts to stop crimes of genocide, travel, famine and annexation, and to open a real political path to resolve the conflict”.
In a press release on X, the ministry said it considered the decision “in accordance with international law and the United Nations resolutions, and the protection of the two -state solution and support for peace”.
The Israeli government did not immediately publish an official declaration.
But Avigdor Lieberman, the head of the Israeli opposition Yisrael Beiteinu, says that Belgium’s decision is a “direct result” of the “political failure” of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Due to Netanyahu’s inability to manage the political arena, a Palestinian state is established before our eyes,” said Lieberman in an article on X.
“Belgium’s decision to join recognition and moving sanctions is another direct result of its political failure,” he added.
Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever, of the new Flemish Alliance party, said last month that Palestine’s recognition should be linked to strict conditions, according to Belga’s Belga news agency.
At the end of July, President Emmanuel Macron announced that France would recognize the Palestinian state when world leaders would meet for Unga.
Although Belgium’s decision to recognize the Palestinian state may seem like a simply symbolic act, there is a great momentum across Europe, said the Hachem Ahelbarra of Tel Aviv Tribune, reported by Brussels.
“This means that each European country which says” I therefore recognize Palestine “will recognize the sovereignty of the independent Palestinian state with borders which existed before 1967, including the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem, and the complete establishment of diplomatic relations with the Palestinian State.”
While more and more European countries continue to recognize Palestine, “this will exert more pressure on Luxembourg and Italy in particular” to follow up on.
France and Saudi Arabia co-organize the meeting on Palestinian recognition during UNGA on September 22. Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom also said they planned to recognize Palestine this month, also with conditions.
A problem with the declaration put forward by France and Saudi Arabia to the UN, which calls the Palestinians and the Israelis to discuss the future of the two -state solution, convinces many Arab countries that Hamas should be dismantled once the war in Gaza, said Ahelbarra.
The question is whether this consensus will be reached, because it is clear from “each declaration from European countries, that is to say for them (dismantling of Hamas) a prerequisite for complete recognition of the Palestinian State,” said Ahelbarra.
In April of this year, some 147 countries, representing 75% of UN members, had already recognized the Palestinian state.
Israel and the United States have firmly criticized the countries that have moved to recognize Palestine, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio describing France’s announcement as a “reckless decision” which “only serves Hamas propaganda”.
Rubio has since announced that the administration of US President Donald Trump would denote and revoke the visas for Palestinian officials before UNGA in New York.
The Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, warned last year that a new illegal Israeli colony would be established in the occupied West Bank for each country that recognizes Palestine.
Smotrich is one of the two far-right Israeli ministers faced with sanctions from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Norway and the United Kingdom.
Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Occupied Palestinian territory, implored that the countries take measures to end the War of Israel against Gaza, including by imposing sanctions and an arms embargo on Israel.
The 12 new sanctions announced Tuesday by Prévot seem to be of greatest nature, although they relate mainly to the illegal Israeli colonies in the West Bank.
Last month, Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp resigned after declaring that he could not obtain support from the cabinet for additional “significant” sanctions against Israel in the middle of his brutal war against Gaza.
On August 22, an instructor supported by the UN officially declared that famine occurs in the northern gang of Gaza and should spread in the central and southern regions by the end of September.
Belgium’s decision to recognize Palestine comes as the War of Israel against Gaza killed at least 63,557 people and injured 160,660 others.
In July, Belgian prosecutors gave up a complaint against war crimes against two Israeli soldiers at the International Criminal Court (ICC), following allegations that they participated in atrocities in Gaza.
Israeli forces kill a pregnant woman and her baby to be born in the Gaza City assault | News Israel-Palestine Conflict
Posted on September 1, 2025September 1, 2025
The Israeli army killed a pregnant woman and her baby to be born near the SHATI refugee camp while he continued his large -scale assault on the city of Gaza, with several strikes targeting civilians.
Medical sources from the Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City said that another child was also killed in the attack on a house near the camp on Monday, according to WAFA news agency.
The soldiers also continued to strike the districts of Zeitoun and Sabra in the south of the city, where more than 1,000 buildings were leveled since Israel began to resume the urban center last month, killing 10 people on Monday.
Earlier in the day, chaos scenes played on a crowded market on Nasser Street in Gaza City, with residents dispersed in all directions in the middle of the debris after an Israeli attack, which killed at least four people and injured dozens of others.
Reporting the scene, Moath al-Kahlout by Tel Aviv Tribune said that people were struck.
“They don’t know what to do and where to go. They are trying to find a safer place so much, but the Israeli army continues to attack all the corners of the city,” he said.
Further south, in Deir El-Balah, Israel has targeted a group of citizens inside the Al-Mazra’a school. Later, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital announced the death of Anas Saeed Abu Mughsib, Wafe reported.
Medical sources have said that in total, at least 59 people were killed in Israeli attacks on Monday across the band.
“Artificial famine in the 21st century”
Already moved by the war several times, residents of Gaza City are now faced with the two threats of war and famine.
The hunger caused by the blockade of Israel, several months, led to the death of three infants on Monday. Children represent more than a third of the nearly 350 deaths of hunger and famine in the enclave since the start of the War of Israel in October 2023.
The authorities claim that the number of humanitarian aid trucks that Israel has enabled the band in the last month only met 15% of the needs of the hungry population.
However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a report in August the main global authority on food crises, the integrated food security classification (PIC), that famine was underway in Gaza City, calling it “pure and simple lie”.
On Monday, David Lammy, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, acknowledged the IPC declaration supported by the United Nations, saying that he was “indignant” by Israel for not having authorized enough aid to enter Gaza.
“It is not a natural disaster, it is an artificial famine in the 21st century,” he said.
“We need a massive and massive humanitarian response to prevent more deaths, crucial NGOs, humanitarian workers and health workers authorized to operate and stocks of the borders of Liberated Gaza.”
‘Struggle swallowed from power’
Meanwhile, in Israel, mourning people gathered for the separate funeral of Idan Shtivi and Ilan Weiss, captives taken from Israel during the attack on Hamas in October 2023, the remains of which were recovered in an Israeli military operation in Gaza last week.
Some expressed their anger against the government for not having concluded an agreement with Hamas to end the fighting and return the remaining captives.
“It is a horror, it is a deep sadness and a sorrow beyond the words to describe anger, insults the hostages, insults him to the dead, insults him to the soldiers sent to Gaza,” the crying Taro told the associated press agency.
“No one knows why, with the exception of the sovereign eager for power,” he said.
The Israeli information site Ynet reported on Monday that the head of the Israeli army Eyal Zamir had warned against the implications of Netanyahu’s intention to take up Gaza without making post-war plans.
“You are heading for a military government,” Zamir said to a meeting of the Israeli security firm on Sunday. “Your plan takes us there. Understand the implications ”.
The War of Israel against Gaza has so far killed more than 63,000 Palestinians. About a million inhabitants of Gaza City, many of whom have already been moved several times, are now forced to go out under sustained Israeli attacks, without safe areas to flee in the enclave.
