US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said – today, Tuesday – that if Washington had information about the location of the head of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, “we will pass it to Israel,” in light of the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip for the 228th day.
Blinken explained – in his speech – that there is no party that defended Israel more than President Joe Biden, especially after the Palestinian resistance attacks on the seventh of last October, stressing that they stand with Israel to ensure that those events “will not be repeated.”
Blinken claimed that the quickest way to stop the Israeli war on Gaza is what he called “Hamas’ surrender, laying down its weapons, and releasing prisoners and hostages,” pointing out that they are investigating some of Israel’s attacks in Gaza, “which we assess have violated international humanitarian law.”
Regarding the Israeli ground incursion into Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, the US Secretary of State said, “We made clear to Israel our opposition to any major military operation in Rafah that does not take into account the safety of civilians, and that any attack using large bombs will have serious repercussions.”
Regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Blinken explained that his country is doing “whatever it can to stop the human suffering in Gaza,” and that it has repeatedly called on Israel to “focus on resolving the humanitarian issue and not make it a secondary goal in eliminating Hamas.”
This comes as the Israeli occupation army continues its incursion into areas of Rafah, as part of its ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, leaving tens of thousands of martyrs, wounded and missing, amid a humanitarian situation described as catastrophic.
