A bear injured at least five people in the small Slovak town of Liptovsky Mikulas, in northern Slovakia.

The animal’s incursion took place Sunday evening at midday.

The carnivore spent around twenty minutes in the residential area of ​​the city before returning to the woods.

Local authorities have implemented a state of emergency and are calling on residents not to travel outside residential areas, particularly in the morning and evening.

The incident occurred 48 hours after the death of a Belarusian citizen attacked by a bear in a forest in northern Slovakia.
