Acting Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani said, in an interview with Tel Aviv Tribune, that if Israel persists in its mistakes and decides to expand the war to other places in the region, including Lebanon, “it must know that new energies will be used against it.”
He added that all that Israel has achieved and obtained is a greater record of crimes, genocide and killing of children, and these crimes have only led to more hatred in the world for it.
He continued, “What the Zionists did in Gaza and their persistence in committing crimes there led to the activation of a new energy in the region against them… The era in which the Zionists believed that they could achieve interests through threats has come to an end. The Zionist entity’s increase in its threats will lead to its further involvement in the quagmire of its crimes.”
Regarding the American position, Bagheri said, “If the United States is sincere in its claims regarding its quest to establish a ceasefire and put out the fire of war in Gaza, then it should not support and assist the party that sparked the war, and should not provide it with the latest and most advanced weapons.”
In his opinion, “the solution in Gaza lies in recognizing the reality and the truth. The Palestinian people are a reality and the resistance is a reality. The right of the Palestinians to self-determination is a reality. There is no place for crimes, occupation and aggression in Gaza, Palestine and the region. As long as crimes, occupation and aggression by the Zionist entity continue, you will not enjoy peace.” “The region enjoys peace and stability, and this is a reality.”
He continued, saying, “In order for the region to enjoy peace and stability, all these facts must be taken into account. The belief that the region will enjoy peace and stability in light of the continued Israeli occupation and aggression is just a mirage.”
Baqeri had said that all capabilities must be used to make Israel’s aggression against Gaza costly. He added during his meeting with the head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, in Doha that the armed resistance at home must be accompanied by what he called “legal, political and diplomatic resistance abroad to support the rights of the Palestinian people.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that Haniyeh reviewed with Bagheri the position of Hamas regarding the ceasefire proposal, noting that the developments on the ground in Lebanon and Yemen “indicate the existence of a strategic attainment among the peoples of the region and the impossibility of returning to the stage before Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.”
