Palestinian security services spokesman Anwar Rajab announced that 3 of those he described as wanted were arrested in a house in the town of Silat al-Harithiya, west of Jenin.

The spokesman for the Palestinian security services confirmed that the security campaign in the Jenin camp – which was launched under the title “Protecting the Homeland” – is continuing to pursue what he called “outlaws.”

For its part, the Jenin Brigade of the Al-Quds Brigades said, “What is happening in the Jenin camp is a functional division between the authority and the occupation.”

The battalion rejected the accusations directed by the Authority’s security against the resistance fighters, and said in a statement that “the goal of the campaign is to end the resistance in the camp.”

Increasing campaign and popular tension

The security campaign carried out by the Palestinian security services in Jenin camp continues, which resulted in 8 deaths, including 3 members of the security services.

This comes amid increasing Palestinian popular tension inside the camp as a result of the ongoing siege for the 16th day in a row, which has exacerbated human suffering, amid electricity and water cuts and the prevention of waste removal.

For more than two weeks, the Palestinian security forces have continued a military operation in the camp, while the Jenin Brigade, affiliated with the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement, says that the security campaign is targeting it.

According to a statement by a spokesman for the Jenin Brigade to Tel Aviv Tribune, the Palestinian Authority wants “Jenin without resistance weapons.”

It is noteworthy that Israel continues its war on Gaza for the 15th month in a row. More than 154 thousand Palestinians – most of them children and women – have been martyred and injured, and the majority of the infrastructure, including homes, schools and hospitals, has been destroyed.
