Houthis target Israel

While Israel claimed its ground offensive was underway in Lebanon, Yemen’s Houthis appear to be intensifying their activities.

The Iran-backed group launched drone attacks on Israeli military posts in Tel Aviv and Eilat on Tuesday, the group’s military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a televised speech.

Israel launched airstrikes on the Yemeni city of Hodeidah on Sunday after the Houthis reported a missile attack on Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport.

Since November, the Houthis have carried out repeated attacks against Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians, including strikes against ships linked to Israel.

Two ships were damaged after being hit by missiles and a maritime drone off Yemen’s Hodeidah port early Tuesday, maritime security agencies and sources monitoring the area said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for these attacks.
