AstraZeneca was the first pharmaceutical laboratory to launch a vaccine on the market at the end of 2020, a year after the appearance of the virus.

The classic type vaccine which did not use the messenger RNA technique of its competitors had been widely distributed around the world.

More than 3 billion doses have been administered according to the firm.

A page turns for AstraZeneca

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) indicated on its website that the authorization for the sale of the anti-covid vaccine “Vaxzevria” had been withdrawn at the request of the pharmaceutical laboratory.

AstraZeneca will work in the coming weeks with regulators in other countries to do the same around the world.
