500 Israeli soldiers have suffered psychological trauma since the beginning of the occupation’s aggression against Gaza, while reports indicate that centers have been opened to rehabilitate large numbers of soldiers who were injured during the fierce battles in the Gaza Strip.
Haaretz newspaper said on Tuesday that 500 Israeli soldiers are currently experiencing psychological difficulties and post-traumatic stress disorder, since the beginning of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, Israeli medical sources revealed that occupation soldiers who were injured in the Gaza battles suffer from severe psychological trauma and disturbing nightmares from the horrific scenes of war.
Citing the families of the soldiers, the Hebrew website Walla said last November that the ferocity of the Palestinian resistance caused shocks and unrest for soldiers returning from Gaza.
According to Hebrew reports, hospitals inject psychologically traumatized soldiers with narcotic substances so they can sleep.
Huge losses
The Israeli occupation army admitted that 464 officers and soldiers had been killed since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7th.
During the ground operation in Gaza that began late last October, at least 132 Israeli officers and soldiers were killed, and 719 were injured, including more than 130 in serious condition, according to official figures.
However, the Israeli media talks about huge losses that far exceed these numbers, as they say that hospitals are crowded with wounded soldiers, and that cemeteries receive huge numbers of bodies.
Reports indicate the opening of rehabilitation centers for large numbers of soldiers who suffered permanent disabilities as a result of battles. Of these, more than 100 became blind.
